Upper Leacock Fire Company reported that the crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Fire crews were dispatched after receiving reports of a vehicle accident involving a car flipped onto its side within a bridge in Upper Leacock Township.
When emergency units arrived, all occupants of the car were already outside the vehicle. Firefighters provided lighting and assisted with clearing debris once the car was removed from the bridge, authorities said. Notably, the covered bridge itself was not damaged in the incident.
No injuries were reported in the crash. The cause of the accident has not been disclosed.
This is not the first covered bridge crash Daily Voice has reported on in Lancaster County over the past year. In Nov. 2023, a truck became stuck in the historic Bitzer’s Mill Covered Bridge. Click here to read more about it.
